Work with Us

Working with teens can be difficult; working with your own teen can be even more difficult. The college admissions process is a critical transitional period for both student and family, and hiring an educational consultant is not a decision to take lightly.

Your teen is preparing to take a big step, perhaps the biggest one so far. Yet would it be reasonable to ask a wrestler to compete in a tournament without any wrestling experience? An aspiring actress to perform in a play without a single rehearsal? What about asking a student to sit for a chemistry exam without having sat in on the class?

Of course not, right? But when it comes to college applications and essays, this is exactly what is being asked of our high-school students every single day. Does your student have the necessary experience to write a page suitable for his or her memoir, a potentially life-altering page that also walks the fine line between humility and pride? Is your student capable of articulating who they are in a tone that is neither over-confident or ill-advised?

During the college application process, the very time students need to allow their best selves to shine through, their inner critics may be whispering, you’re not going to get in!

At CompassU, we strive to understand your individual student. And we also understand how stressful the process can be for all parties involved, including the dog. So let’s work together to build an authentic application.

SOme Questions Answered

Senior year is not just about finding the perfect place to spend the next year. It’s about developing as a person and finding out who you are, what you like and dislike, and what you stand for so that you can launch into freshman year as a mindful person regardless of where you are.

Jessie helped me find my ideal college, and she helped me look for the answer to the questions, “Who am I and where is my place in this world?"
